Dr. Allie Thompson-
Norman, LCSW

I provide therapy, clinical evaluations, consulting, supervision, and speaking services for individuals, couples, professionals, and organizations in Memphis, Tennessee and virtually across Tennessee, Mississippi, and Rhode Island.

I’m Dr. Allie, founder of Realign Counseling & Consulting, a therapist, consultant, author, and speaker dedicated to helping people better understand their emotions, navigate life’s challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change. I believe healing begins when you feel safe enough to be honest about your story and supported enough to consider a different way forward.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, or relationship challenges, therapy can be a space to slow down, make sense of what you’re carrying, and begin to move through it with more clarity and confidence. You won’t be rushed or reduced to a diagnosis here. You are a whole person with a story, strengths, and resilience, even if you don’t feel connected to that right now.

For those using insurance for therapy, please schedule an appointment here.

My Approach to Therapy

Everyone has the capacity to heal and realign; sometimes we just need the right support, the right tools, and the right space to do it.

My approach is warm, honest, and collaborative. I sit with you, not above you. Together, we explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, the emotions you’ve been holding on your own, and the places where you’re ready for change.

I help you build emotional awareness, reconnect with yourself, and develop tools that support real, lasting growth.

Our work is intentional and grounded, focused on helping you move forward in a way that feels aligned with who you are and who you want to become.

Resources for Continued Growth

My passion for helping people heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves extends beyond the therapy room. Through writing, reflection, and practical tools, I've created resources designed to support personal growth, emotional wellness, and self-discovery wherever you are in your journey.

Embracing Release
The Practice of Peaceful Detachment

A structured framework for recognizing when continued engagement is no longer healthy and how to step back without hostility, guilt, or unnecessary conflict. Rather than framing detachment as avoidance or abandonment, this book approaches release as a disciplined process of restoring balance, boundaries, and psychological clarity.

Book cover of Embracing Release, The Practice of Peaceful Detachment. Different sized rounded stones in a soothing pond.

Inside this book readers will learn how to:

  • Recognize early signals of relational strain and emotional overload.

  • Identify patterns that keep them overcommitted or chronically responsible for others

  • Separate responsibility from unnecessary emotional burden.

  • Interrupt cycles of rumination and repeated conflict.

  • Establish clear boundaries without escalating tension.

  • Maintain composure and clarity while creating needed distance.
